Harvesting Areas

Harvesting Areas can be found everywhere around the Frostland.png Frostland. They are an alternative source of Food.png Food.

Unlike Outposts, Harvesting Areas don't need to be connected to the City by a Trail or Skyway; they just need Frostland Teams.png Frostland Teams to operate them to start providing Food. Once discovered, they can be turned on and off at any point until their food is exhausted.

You can research and construct Harvester Hangars to increase the amount of Food.png Food provided by Harvesting Areas.

Some areas may spawn multiple times on the same map. All have an upkeep cost of 5 Frostland Teams.png Frostland Teams.

Decision Areas[edit | edit source]

Some Harvesting Areas require you to make a one-time choice before activating them that permanently affects their behavior.

This same reindeer herd has provided us food at various occasions over the last few decades. It seems the herds' numbers have increased. We can safely send out the hunters.

A line of rusting shacks marks an ideal fishing spot: the wind calm, the ice thin enough to cut through, schools of cod and char swimming below.

A row of hunters' hangars breaks the flat white landscape. Once the workers gathered food for a great expedition, now we may gather food to feed our great City.

These reindeer seem to be slowly dying away to constant storms and lack of edible fauna [sic]. They won't survive too many more years. Perhaps we should send out the hunters while we can.

This area presents the player with a choice: hunt the seals for food, or protect them for +8 UIT Icon Trust.png Trust with Communities and Factions that are aligned with Adaptation.png Adaptation.

The sight of seals filled our scouts' hearts with wonder. Some see the majestic beasts as a sign for a positive future, others are excited about a new source of protein for UIT Icon District Central.png The City.

The warmer water beneath this thinner ice is teaming [sic] with fish. Occasionally, a walrus can also be seen swimming through the schools, looking for prey.
