Heatstamps are among the main Resources of the game. They are a currency that can used by the Steward to pay for construction and research projects. The Population of the city also use Heatstamps to pay for Goods from the City.
For some cost examples:
- District costs roughly 40 Heatstamps to build.
- Frostbreaking costs 32 Heatstamps for 8 tiles or 4 per tile.
- Initiating development of Idea Tree research costing you 50, 100, or 200 Heatstamps.
- Buildings used to upgrade districts have variable costs, typically ranging from 80 to 650 Heatstamps. The exact cost depends on the tier of building.
- Frostland Trails cost 25 Heatstamps per segment and Skyways cost 50 Heatstamps per segment.
Income and Expenses[edit | edit source]
Heatstamps are collected from the Population each week at the start of the seventh day. The weekly income is +0.1 per unit of Goods consumed, which itself starts at 0.01 per capita, working out to +1
Heatstamp per thousand Population; this income is affected by Laws that increase or decrease Goods Demand. Certain Laws, such as Paid Essentials and Equal Pay, add income or expenses calculated directly from the Population, unaffected by Goods Demand. The Central District provides a small
Heatstamps output on its own, and some Buildings and Frostland sites can also provide a small income.
Heatstamps are sometimes spent as a continuous expense by Laws such as Mandatory School or certain Buildings. Additionally, failing to meet the Demand for Goods will reduce income from the Population. However, most structures do not require
Heatstamps for upkeep, generally needing only Workforce and Materials.
Background info[edit | edit source]
According to a loading screen tip, heatstamps as a concept were invented some time after the Great Storm, but the city or location that did so is unknown.
